Are we far too male-centric?

Are we far too male centric? Recently I’ve noticed how much wives put up with. From Eugene O’Kelly to Evan Almighty. And that’s just yesterday. It may sound naive but why are we still so very male-centric? Discussion at 9rules.

About Devin Reams

My name is Devin Reams and I founded this site to provide a useful news and review resource for Colorado skiers and snowboarders (and mountain enthusiasts). I've been skiing since I was a little kid (we moved out here when I was five years old) and I plan to ski for years beyond that. Although cosnow is not my full-time job it is my full-time winter hobby. I've been an "Epic Local" passholder since 2006 (when it was called a "Colorado Pass" or "Five Mountain Pass"). My favorite resorts are Beaver Creek and Breckenridge.

First of all, did you actually see Evan Almighty? yikes…

We’re a world with very entrenched gender roles, so the world is bound to appear male centric when you’re viewing issues that are typically male dominated. I think that patriarchal societies are built when gender roles delegate the primary areas of the public domain to men.
I think that people are often don’t realize how prevalent these gender roles are, and those who are cognitively aware of the issue are seen as “making waves” when they don’t act according to tradition.

Go see the note on 9rules. Basically, the wife has to deal with not only the move to a new job, new house, etc. But go along with his crazy plan to build an ark.

Would he have done that for her?
