Shred Credit Card Applications

This is very disconcerning. This guy ripped up a credit card offer, changed the address and phone number… and was approved. Dammit. Now I have to go buy a shredder.

About Devin Reams

My name is Devin Reams and I founded this site to provide a useful news and review resource for Colorado skiers and snowboarders (and mountain enthusiasts). I've been skiing since I was a little kid (we moved out here when I was five years old) and I plan to ski for years beyond that. Although cosnow is not my full-time job it is my full-time winter hobby. I've been an "Epic Local" passholder since 2006 (when it was called a "Colorado Pass" or "Five Mountain Pass"). My favorite resorts are Beaver Creek and Breckenridge.

Ummm… did he “forget” the part where you need to mention your social to the CC people in order to activate a card you get in the mail? Umm… I don’t think you’d be dumping your SSI out with credit card applications…. This guy’s a dumbass… And if he did, well, he’s not just a dumbass, he’s a fucktard…

I think the point is that a torn up credit card application seems a bit fishy. He applied for a Chase card and Chase’s website (along with the FTCs) specifically notes: “If you receive financial solicitations that you’re not interested in, tear them up before throwing them away, so theives can’t use them to assume your identity.”
