About Devin Reams

My name is Devin Reams and I founded this site to provide a useful news and review resource for Colorado skiers and snowboarders (and mountain enthusiasts). I've been skiing since I was a little kid (we moved out here when I was five years old) and I plan to ski for years beyond that. Although cosnow is not my full-time job it is my full-time winter hobby. I've been an "Epic Local" passholder since 2006 (when it was called a "Colorado Pass" or "Five Mountain Pass"). My favorite resorts are Beaver Creek and Breckenridge.

Captchas suck

I think my ‘captcha’ batting average is 300 right now. Captchas are what we call those annoying boxes at the end of a form, or before you download a file. They show you a jumble of letters and numbers and you have to enter what it is. Apparently this is to circumvent non-human interaction with websites. In other words, to make sure no scripts, bots, or programs are automatically stealing all the concert tickets. Well, so far, I’m not getting any tickets either..

Oh, and if you missed it, I remade a music video. Watch the first minute of this, then this, then read on…

Things to do during a blizzard

If you missed it, Denver was hit by a nice little blizzard on Wednesday. My house had over 20 inches of accumulation. Other places around the state had four feet. I’m just glad the power stayed on- I got a lot accomplished as far as Playstation 2 games is concerned. But, after a few hours in the house it’s pretty fun to go outside. Here’s a few ways we kept ourselves occupied.

Save Money in College

I’ve been asked to review (sponsored) an awesome resource put together by Daniel Kovach of Scholarships Around the U.S. First off, his site is an amazing place for students to find information on financial aid. He has a lot of opportunities (Paul won money as a student blogger) and a lot of good information including his guide: 118 Ways to Save Money in College.

Finding gifts online this season

First, welcome to my new readers. I noticed a substantial spike in my traffic yesterday when the latest 9rules members were announced. Thanks to everyone who emailed, messaged, and left their congratulations- I do appreciate it. If you are new or haven’t browsed my site before be sure to check out my Archives and Articles to see what I’ve written in the last year. I’ve also built some useful Tools and pulled together some Quotes worth checking out. Welcome!

On to business: you basically have two weeks left to get your holiday shopping done. If you’re like me you’re probably one of many things: a) lazy b) scared of large crowds of determined women or c) uncreative. Luckily the internet is here to remedy each of my shortcomings. Since I shop for nearly everything online these days: clothes, toys and yes, even food why not others’ gifts? I searched for some simple gift finding tools online and here is what I’ve found.
